CommissionsTurn your favorite place into a painting!
Here's how it works:
1) Email me a landscape photo (or 10!) you'd like turned into a painting. 2) Next, we work out the details together: size, room colors, etc. 3) Depending on my current workload, I either drop off or mail your painting to you within a couple of weeks. |
Still interested? Here's the nitty-gritty details.
Number of photos: If you have a certain landscape in mind, one photo often works. However, more than one photograph would be helpful for me to get a feel for the area. Sometimes I take as many as 10 when working on a studio painting. Yeah, I'm that guy.
Size constraints: Because of the time involved for design and consultation work, I cannot do commissions less than 18"x24" in size. I can do work as large as you like. Please know, paintings over 3 feet in length incur significant extra charges from shipping companies. We can keep costs down by turning a rather large painting into several different paintings meant to hang next to each other. For example, a 6ft by 2ft painting could be split up into two 3ft by 2ft paintings or even three 2ft by 2ft paintings. If you live in the Denver metro area, we can skip the shipping altogether and I will drop off the artwork at your house.
Price: I price my regular work by size. If I have the size in my gallery, that's the base price for the commission. There are three parts to the process: picking a landscape, design work, and the finished product.
If, for whatever reason, you are not completely satisfied with the artwork, you may apply your deposit to any other painting(s) you choose from my gallery. I want you to be completely happy with your new work of art!

- Picking a Landscape Phase: Once we agree to a landscape and sign a contract, I will ask you to pay 10% of the base price of the painting to fund the design work.
- Design Phase: After paying for the design work, I will make a proposal for your piece of art. You will have the opportunity to make suggestions and alterations. This is where we finalize the price together. Any increases to the base price are usually due to: more than 3 revisions to the original proposal, special requests for more expensive materials, or my needing to build custom supports for the paintings. After we agree on the the final product, I will ask you to pay 50% of the total cost to fund the project. This total cost includes the price to ship the painting to you if you do not live in the Denver metro area.
- Finished! Phase: After finishing your original fine art, I will ask you to pay the remaining portion of the total cost for the painting. Then I will ship you your one-of-a-kind painting!
