While on a family vacation in Sedona, we escaped the heat of the day by swimming in the nearby river. My children played in the water while I sketched the reflections of the sun and the trees.

The skyline west of the Rockies is like nowhere else in this country. Pillars of red stone stand scattered through the land. The Rockies tower blue above them. My children groan as I get out of the car for yet another picture.

Colorado Wildflowers - Framed

$699.00

18"x24" Acrylic on Canvas

Black matte floater frame

Years back, our local community garden planted a pollinator garden full of black-eyed Susans, Queen Anne's lace, and coneflowers. Eventually, the flowers spread past their confines, slowly making their way into the adjacent grasslands. I grin every time I walk by it--beauty invading the mundane.

Dry Creek

$1,299.00

24"x36"x1.5" Acrylic on cradled board

On a brisk Fall morning our family went for a hike in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. On the way home we found a dry creek bed for our picnic spot. After lunch, we explored as far as the thistles and brambles would allow.

Ralston Reservoir

$699.00

18"x24"x1.5" Acrylic on cradled board.

As you hike the east trailhead of White Ranch along the Whipple Tree trail, you catch a glimpse of Ralston Reservoir over the Front Range. It's one of my favorite views along the Front Range.

Shop

Fallen Tree - Framed

$519.00

16"X20" Acrylic on Canvas

I walk this trail every month of the year. If you're willing to trek a bit into the grasses, you're rewarded with a splendid view of creek finding its way into an opening in the trees.

Approaching Storm - framed

8"x10" Acrylic on canvas

An evening rain storm swept south over the foothills. I watched it slowly start to obscure the mountains behind it.

Water in the Mountains

$699.00

18x24x1.5 Acrylic on cradled board.

Often when hiking on a dry hillside, you will come up over a ridge and be blessed with a view of a lake on the other side of the mountain. I'm captivated by these kinds of views.

October Reflections

$699.00

24"x18" Acrylic on cradled board

Fall in Colorado. While walking under a canopy of leaves, the sky comes through a gap in the trees and reflects turquoise on the water.

Canyon

$1,299.00

36"x24" Acrylic on canvas.

This view is from the floor of a canyon looking up at the sky--hinting at the green trees on the hillside above. The strong sunlight catches several ledges on the way down before pooling on the canyon floor. A small waterfall glimmers in the background.

Shop

Reflections in Orange - Framed

$699.00

24x18 Acrylic on canvas

Fall in Colorado. I came upon this scene during one of my walks near Ralston Creek. The orange leaves from the trees filled the water, mirroring the colors above.

Shop

Reflected Sky - Framed

$299.00

14"x11 Acrylic on board

The mountain creek widens for a moment just west of the Tarryall Reservoir. This particular afternoon, the brilliant blue of the sky was matched color for color in the reflections on the water—only broken be a few stones in the distance.

The Last Snow on the Mountain - Framed

$299.00

14"x11" Acrylic on cradled board

Framed

In the Eldorado Canyon State Park, I found myself on the Fowler trail with my painting gear. The trees hadn't yet started to bud. This was the last snow on the mountain.

Shop

Crossing the Stream

$699.00

24"x18"x1.5" Acrylic on cradled board

Hiking the Belcher Hill trail in White Ranch Park, Golden CO. For about 1/2 mile you hike next to the stream but never quite get a good look at it. Then, after a quick turn, you descend to the stream banks into the cool shade of the trees. It's a small bit of oasis from the full sun on the trail.

Shop

Morning in the Canyon - Framed

$299.00

14"x11" Acrylic on board

Eldorado Canyon is one of my favorite places. This crisp Fall morning, I took my paints and traversed the rocks to the middle of South Boulder Creek. As I started to paint, the morning sun just started to peak through to the trees on top of the canyon.

Shop

14"x11" Acrylic on canvas

A Spring storm dropped piles of heavy snow along the Front Range. We went outside in the middle of the storm to shake off the trees in the hopes of saving them. I could barely make out the spring colors through the gusts of snow. It was beautiful.
